Review: PS3 Bluetooth headset

1 01 2009

When you see the Playstation logo on a product you normaly expect quality, it’s a good thing this product doesn’t fall short of that claim.

When you first open it, you immediately know what you have to deal with, you have a Charging dock, a USB cable, extra ear piece ring, and as you would expect, a headset. Getting it going is simple, the included instructions give you all the info you need to get it set up. Linking it to a PS3 system is faster than ever with the USB cable, and it can be linked to almost any other Bluetooth device through discovery mode.

The quality of this product is amazing, when connected to a PS3 system with the USB cable, you get High quality mode, and when compared to almost any other headset on the system, this one easily sounds like a $200 Bluetooth headset. The mic mute/unmutebutton also serves useful and a quick way to block out that person yelling at you, so your squad doesn’t think, WTH? The battery also charges real quick, and lasts a good 7-10 hours of talking. One issue you should note, it does not get the range sony claims it can get, I got maximum 15-20 feet away before it shut me out, it claims 30 feet.

The design of the product is made to look like any other Bluetooth headset, but it is rather high quality. It is very sturdy, it doesn’t feel like it has any “weak spots” and all the buttons feel strong, and firm, while remaining easy to push. It features a Power button, Mic mute/unmutebutton, and Volume up and volume down button. It is also a very conferrable headset that works on either ear, and adjusts comfortably, however when you’re walking around it tends to fall off easily, and doesn’t have the firm grip most other Bluetooth headsets have.

It does a really good job for gaming on the PS3 but also excels in jobs outside of that, it has full support for most phone functions like any other Bluetooth headset, and links up to any device that supports Bluetooth just like any other Bluetooth headset would. It tends to have some features that don’t work the way there made to on some phones, but you must bear in mind that it is not designed with phones in mind.

Scores: Hardware

Design: All the buttons feel like there in the right place, and are easily accessed, thisheadset is a little big that most Bluetooth headsets out there, and it doesn’t feel like it has the grip is should have on your ear, but over all a great product. Score: 7.5

Quality: This headset has exceptional quality, it has a high quality mic, good speakers, great battery life, and plenty of features to make it easily one of the best headsets you can get for your PS3. Score: 9.0

Price: The headset is marked at $50 stand alone, and $60 with a game, a great offer if you get it with the game. This headset feels like a $100 Bluetooth headset, that’s only $60 and comes with a great game. However the stand alone headset feels a little overpriced because its only $10 cheaper than the one with Socom. Score: 9.0

Compatibility: This headset works with all Bluetooth devices I have tested it with, and it supports every single one of them, it has excellent mobile support supporting most features most other Cell phone Bluetooth headsets offer. However some side glitches with some phones can be a pain. 9.0

Overall score: 8.4

Conclusion: This headset is a must buy for all PS3 owners that currently don’t have a Bluetooth headset, its one of the highest quality headsets on the market, at a bargain price. Most of the small problems can be ignored and overlooked in most situations, making this a good all around headset for every PS3 (and none PS3) fan.

best friends

My developer is trying to convince me to move to .
net from PHP. I have always disliked the idea because of
the costs. But he’s tryiong none the less. I’ve been using Movable-type on several websites for about a
year and am worried about switching to another platform.

I have heard very good things about blogengine.net. Is there a
way I can transfer all my wordpress content into it?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
